June Is Child Hunger Awareness Month!
Nationally, 20.6 million children participated in free or reduced lunch programs in their schools; and according the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) 18 million children are at risk of going hungry when school ends. Due to the current economy and the lack of programs available in many communities, it is anticipated that only $2.3 million school ages children will receive meals during the summer. There are a couple of things we can do in our community over the summer to help!
1. Become A Sponsor- Organize a Summer Food Program site in your community
2. Open A Feeding Site- Using a community building, place of worship or partnering with a youth activities program in the community as a feeding site
3. Volunteer- Transport food, set-up or clean up a feeding site; provide and assist with educational or recreational activities with the children
4. Share- Tell others about the Summer Food Service Programs in your community

Caruso Steam Hairsetter...Love It!
Before I started my hair journey in August 2010, I would curl/flatiron my hair almost everyday…and without heat protectant (ouch…I know!). However, now that I am serious about having healthier hair, I realize that I must limit the amount of heat I use, and protective styling is my friend. I still enjoy wearing my hair down occasionally, but now I hate to curl or flatiron…unbelievable, LOL! This is where the Caruso Steam Hairsetter comes in; if I wanted to, I can use the Caruso hairsetter everyday because the system infuses gentle steam moisture into the hair…not heat. The rollers actually add moisture to my hair and the curls last for several days. As my hair continues to grow, I’m really enjoying the results more. If you don’t have this system, I would personally recommend that you purchase one, or borrow the system from a friend to try (Thanks SB!). Here is a pic after using the Caruso...what do you think?
